Effect of noise and structural inhomogeneities in reaction-diffusion media

We investigate the pinning and depinning condition of a kink in both homogeneous and inhomogeneous reaction-diffusion media. We show that structural inhomogeneities hinder information propagation whereas noise enhances propagation.
